Masterline Oil-Based Polyurethane Wood Floor Finish – 1 qt.

Masterline Oil-Based Polyurethane is a durable finish suitable for large volume applications such as meeting halls, multiple-unit dwellings, and other commercial uses. It is available in Gloss, Semi-Gloss and Satin.

Masterline Oil-Based Polyurethane Features

• Application:  residential or commercial hardwood floors
• Sheen: Gloss, Semi-Gloss and Satin
• Dry Time & Cure: Allow to dry fully for 8 hours before recoating. Wait overnight before allowing light traffic. Wait 48 hours before replacing furniture and rugs
• Coverage: 500-600 sq. ft/gal
• VOCs: 550 g/L

New Wood Floors

1. Prepare floor according to NOFMA or NWFA specifications.
2. Apply Masterline Polyurethane using a lambswool applicator or a natural bristle brush at a coverage rat of 500-600 square feet per gallon. Application of thicker coats extends dry time.
3. Allow to dry fully for 8-10 hours, then screen the floor and tack with a cloth dampened with mineral spirits to remove dust.
4. Apply at least two more coats in the same manner as steps 2 and 3.
5. Additional coats may be applied if desired. Be sure to allow each coat to dry fully and screen lightly between each coat.

Screen and Recoat

1. Clean floors with an abrasive pad dampened with mineral spirits to remove all grease, soap residue, oil, dirt, etc. Once dry, screen using a No. 100 grit screen. Do not apply over floors previously finished with shellac, lacquer, wax, or stains containing stearates, wax, or finishes in very poor condition in need of complete removal.

Old Wood Floors:

1. Sand floor to bare wood according to NOFMA or NWFA approved methods. Make sure to remove all
   existing stain and finish.
2. Tack floor with cloth dampened with mineral spirits to remove all dust.
3. Follow steps 2 through 4 under New Wood Floors.

PRECAUTION: Polyurethane will have a slight ambering/darkening effect when applied over light-colored surfaces. Do not apply over floors previously coated with wax, shellac, lacquer, or stains containing wax or stearates.
